Eligibility Criteria of the United Nations Internship:
Applicants must meet one of the following academic requirements at the time of application:
- Be enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree;
- Be enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent);
- Have graduated within the past 12 months.
Additional requirements:
- Strong command of English; knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.
- Good writing, editing, and digital communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Responsibilities
As an intern in the Public Information team, you may:
- Support the preparation of content for social media, websites, newsletters, and press materials.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing media coverage.
- Participate in meetings and prepare summary reports.
- Assist in organizing press briefings and public information events.
Is It Open to International Students?
Yes, international applicants are welcome as long as they have legal authorization to intern in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship, so interns are responsible for obtaining and maintaining their own visa status (e.g., F-1 with CPT/OPT or G-4 visa if applicable).

Financial Support of the United Nations Internship:
This is an unpaid internship. Interns are responsible for travel, accommodation, and living expenses during the internship period.
