Eligibility Criteria of the METI Japan Internship Program:
- The applicant must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries listed under the OECD/DAC framework.
- The applicant must agree with the purpose of the program and be willing to collaborate with Japanese companies to promote overseas business development and internationalization.
- The applicant must be proficient in Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher) or English.
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old and not older than 40 years as of August 31, 2025.
- The applicant must be able to submit a certificate of enrollment or graduation from a school or university, along with a letter of recommendation from the institution or employer.
- The applicant must be able to complete required training and fully participate in the internship at the assigned workplace.
- The applicant must be available according to the internship schedule as set by the METI JIP office.
- The applicant must not have participated in the METI Internship Program from FY2017 to FY2024.
Application Deadline of the METI Japan Internship Program:
The application periods for the METI Government of Japan Internship Program 2025 are as follows:
- Summer Internship: Applications are open from mid-May 2025 to late June 2025.
